Free Classifieds--Sell Teddy Bears with Success
Sell your Teddy bears! A free classified ad to sell your teddy bear(s) will have a much greater chance of being found by potential buyers if you understand about finding things on the internet.
You have heard of "key words" and "search engines"-- here is a little tip on how to use them to sell your teddy bears on line. I will give you a couple of examples to help you understand how key words should be first in your ad, then everything else. Here is an ad written so no one will find it when they run a search:
"Title: For sale, old 1930's teddy bear
I have an old bear I would like to sell. The bear is tagged with a tag that says Steiff. It is jointed and made of mohair. It is about 75 years old, from the 1930s. Good condition."
No one will run a search for "an old bear I would like to sell" or "old bear"
Your title and your first line should contain your "key words ".
The search engines look at only the first sentence and move on if they don't see the search phrase, so here is how you would write the same ad:
"Title: Steiff Mohair Teddy Bear, Jointed,Antique
Steiff teddy bear, 1930s, mohair, tagged, fully jointed, for sale. All in good condition."
This way if someone is searching for any of the following, your ad has a chance of coming up:
- Teddy Bear for sale
- Steiff Teddy bear, 1930s
- Antique Steiff teddy bear
Antique mohair bear
- Antique bear for sale
- Antique Teddy bear
- These are all in your first line that the search engine will see, and you are much more likely to have your ad come up on the search. Never title your ad with anything like "my childhood teddy bear"-- no one looking for an antique bear to buy will run a search for childhood teddy bear.
Have your pictures ready and don't forget to add them!
We have made it easy to upload pictures for your ad and you can put on as many as five pictures in each ad. REMEMBER that it is always true that one picture is worth a thousand words. You are asking people to send you money for something they can't examine in person, so if you have good clear photos of front, back, dressed (If your bear is dressed) and nude photos of your teddy bear, the potential buyer will be a lot more interested than if you have no picture or one blurry, or hard to see, little picture. Don't forget one good, clear close up of the face!
